Chapter 22

LEONIE

I snuggled closer to the pillow. It’s warmth was super captivating, and I liked it so much. I sighed as I pulled my legs closer. I really didn’t want to wake up from this sleep, even though I was awake.

“Find her!”

My eyes shut open at once. That was Alpha Gunnolf’s voice. He sounded like he was pissed to the core of him, and there was anunmistakable sound of anguish. During my time as a scientist, I had taken a course in psychotherapy to understand the human nature, and here, I was seeing it in full, and I knew I wasn’t wrong.

I pulled up slightly on the bunk bed, and yawned. Using my hand to field the sound in order not to alert him if he was outside the door. I knew I was the cause of his frustration, though, I couldn’t understand why not finding me caused him so much anguish. Well, either way, it was his damn business. Alpha Gunnolf was a heartless man.
