There was this pain I felt when I thought about Leonie. I couldn’t understand why she had to suffer this much because of my son. I had no idea what had happened between them, but it was wrong for Gunnolf to treat her like this. It was not the way I had thought him to treat a woman. His hatred for humans was going to cheat him out of living a life of happiness if care was not taken.

I didn’t like it for him at all. This was not the way things should be for him.But, what exactly should I do now? I walked around the table, and stared at the food that had been set for me. The yam puddings and sauce were too much. I sighed as I stepped forward. I pulled out the chair and sat down, then unwrapped things as easily as I could.

“No, I can’t just do things like this. I can’t eat alone, knowing fully well that Leonie was hurting.” I mumbled to myself. I don’t know when it happened, but she was like a daughter to me, and it was my duty to make sure that she was ok, mentally.
