The inevitable

"Luna Anaïs" I stopped and turned around when I heard Alpha Paenoe call after me. We had hardly made it down the stairs of the Communal hall. I was expecting him to take days before making up his mind...

I turned around and looked at him as he climbed down the stairs and came to stand in front of me. His shoulders were tense and even though his face showed no emotions, his eyes made an uncomfortable feeling wash over me.

"I will not put my pack at risk. The few moonchildren who find their mates among us mate and further our line. We do not wish for anything more" Alpha Paenoe said.

His words made me sigh but I wasn't going to push him. He's the leader, he chooses what's right for his people. I understood that because I am one too.

"And by saying that I won't put my pack in danger for anything, I mean you as well" Alpha Paenoe said and immediately in the blink of an eyes more than 10 hybrids surrounded us.
