Chapter 28: In Between

“Let’s have lunch here,” Alchy muttered when we entered the tiny eatery, it was a bit distant from where we rested the car since we still had to enter a back street before getting here.

“You sure know a lot of things.” Zygo complimented after sitting down. There’s a round table in front of us that is only good for three people. 

“As a soldier, yes,” Alchy answered boldly. 

“Oh, you are a soldier?” after Zygo said those words, it became silence between him and Alchy. I was sitting between them, and they were staring at each other with intense gazes.

“That’s enough. We are here to eat. It’s as if you’re going to slaughter each other with your intense gaze.” I said as I called the waiter who had just finished talking to another customer.
