Chapter 30: Call of Duty

“What are we going to do now?” I asked as I lay down on the ground while facing the sky.

“We should wait for nightfall before going out from this place,” Zygo answered and then lay beside me. Alchy was left standing in front of us, staring at the sky. 

“I wonder what time is it?” I mumbled to myself. 

“It’s around four in the afternoon,” Alchy muttered. I thought I just asked myself about those words, but he even heard it. 

I stared at Alchy. I did not anticipate spending a lot of time with this black-tag soldier. As I let out a deep sigh, I turned my body to the right, forgetting about Zygo’s existence that we almost bumped into each other’s heads. He just lay still while staring at me. 

“Careful,” he said and then grinned. Without hesitation, I stood up. “Where are you going?
