Chapter Four

~Agathe~

"That bellend! What a stony-hearted imbecile! Such a nincompoop! I hated his guts so much! Argh!"

I should have done more than slapping and pouring cold water on his face!

How could he humiliate me like that? Does he own my body or something?

I was inside the lift. Weeping in the corner, hugging my knees. Like a wee lassie whose sanity had gone astray.

I am so terrified. I haven't got the faintest idea of how I can acquire the bloody cash for my mother's surgery anymore.

I was so sure that I would get that sponsorship no matter what. Yet the exact jiffy that bastard asked me to get undressed, like a whore he picked up on the streets, my stomach turned upside down.

Who cares if he was a tycoon and must have been rolling in money all his life? Who cares if he was handsome and totally my type?

"He should rot in hell for being the male chauvinist pig that he was!"

The lift dinged and opened, silently apprising me that I had arrived on the ground floor. Enfeebled, I almost stumbled on the floor if I hadn't managed to balance myself.

Right. I haven't eaten anything throughout the day and it's already a quarter to seven in the evening. How I can still walk is beyond me.

As soon as I stepped outside the lift, the bellend's bodyguard named Calixto together with the other two men in black suits were quietly standing by in front of the lift.

I wouldn't have spared them a glance but they were bloody staring back at me. I stood still, weighing the situation.

"I'm sorry, miss. But, you have to come with us."

Calixto told me, in a very firm voice. His face was void of any emotions, like his mother fucking boss.

"Huh?"

Until terrifying realizations dawned on me. Why! Why did I forget that the bellend owns and rules this city?

If he suddenly fancied wiping me off the map, he absolutely could. No one would question or chastise him for it.

In this city, he is the royal king. Much more dominant than the head or the monarchy of this country.

Cold sweat started to materialize on my forehead. The other two men in black suits strutted towards me and grasped my arms like I was a prisoner who had eloped.

"Wait. Hang on. There must be a misunderstanding here."

I couldn't feel my body anymore. Sheer terror struck me when I caught a glimpse of a gun tucked behind their slacks.

I was shaking like a leaf when the two bodyguards holding my arm began to walk, eventually dragging me with them.

"Wait, please. Don't do this. I haven't done anything wrong. Your boss was the one who tried to harass me!"

In spite of that, no one heeded my wailing. No one dared to consider my side of the story.

I struggled. Trying to free myself from their forceful grip. "Please. Let go of me, please."

Everyone in the waiting lobby and lounge watched how I was being yanked away. The staff nurses from before started tattling and whispering to each other's ears.

I perceived the hospital's main entrance, and a black car stopped midway. When I saw that three other men in black suits hopped outside that car, I knew right there and then, I'm doomed.

Nearing the car, I remembered my mother's face. The way she pleaded with me not to go anywhere that night.

I wept more, my heart bleeding so much from that agonizing pain. What if I won't be able to see her anymore after this night?

With that thought, I regained my last strength. I attempted to run away again by sinking my teeth in the arm of the man on my left and by kicking the balls of the man on my right.

Assholes!

When they dropped my arm, I took that sole chance! I planned to go back inside the hospital and beg for someone's help. Because obviously, the main entrance was blocked by those men.

"Where do you think you're going, love?"

Until I halted in my tracks when all of a sudden, the gorgeous amber eyed man stood in front of me. He was wearing a different shirt, perhaps he took his time to change.

My heart was racing very fast, my limbs went numb. I could hardly breathe, I almost thought I would faint.

I was so astounded that the two men dragging me a while ago caught me for the second time around. The sheer regrets that flooded my system were insufferable, too extreme to bear with my worn out mind.

I didn't fight back. I allowed them to quietly take me.

Moments later, I found myself plonked down in the backseat of the gorgeous amber eyed man's luxurious car. The bellend sitting beside me, his eyes straight ahead.

"Where are you taking me?"

I inquired in a small voice when the car moved. I had to ask, or I would go nuts.

"This is kidnapping."

I concluded he won't respond to me. He seemed so enraged based on how he clenched his jaw every now and then.

"Did you really think you could get away after what you have done to me?"

I scoffed. "Don't you think I should be the one saying that?"

"Feisty. I like that."

I shifted my gaze to the window.

"Don't ever think of jumping out from the car, Miss Capucine. That is not the kind of death I want to bestow on you."

He's. . he's going to kill me?

~~~
I didn't know I had fallen asleep until someone poured a bucket of cold ice water over my head. Shell-shocked, I screamed.
Bloody hell!
"Chilling, isn't it? Might help cleanse your trashy personality."
What the!
I fixed my weary gaze in front of me, catching a glimpse of a dark silhouette. Because I just came from a deep slumber, my mind was still in a haze.
Not to mention I was freezing to the core!
"Still asleep, love?"
That voice. I glanced around me. It was so dark I could barely see anything.
Until such time that I recollected what happened for the last few hours. I was in Stonewood City!
I struggled to move, yet I can't. I realized that I was tied with a rope or something, from my arms down to my waist.
I was on my knees, being held up by two different hands on opposite sides.
We're not inside the car anymore. That, I am sure of.
When I stared back at the dark silhouette in front of me, the blinding headlights from his car behind him were turned on.
That's when I recognized the bellend's face! His men in black suits were gathered around us.
"Looks like you're fully awake now. Aren't you curious where we are?"
I stared at the bellend with my eyes reflecting the paroxysm of rage I was feeling inside me. Still can't believe I was slightly attracted to him at first sight!
The bellend dropped to one knee to level his eyes with me. Afterwards, he clutched my long hair and I almost winced in pain.
I endured it while staring back at him. His eyes looked so menacing and unforgiving.
If I only knew he was a demon hiding behind a sheep's cloth. "Get your filthy hands off me."
He tilted his head to one side. "I see you still have the courage to talk back to me."
"I won't bow down to the likes of you, asshole."
My pride was the only thing left to me. I won't lose it no matter what.
"Really? Might as well look behind you."
He harshly shifted my head's position to stare at what was behind us. I gasped, perplexed at what I saw.
"That cliff will be the sole witness of your untimely demise. This place will be your grave."
My eyes widened. "You're going to kill me just because I slapped you?"
"Who said I'm going to kill you right away? We are going to play a game, love."
Damn it. I thought I could tickle his conscience and might spare me this one time.
So, he does this out of rage that I am pretty sure will soon pass? Rich people are truly one of a motherfucking kind.
Calixto, who was standing on his right, handed him a gun. Again, my whole body went numb.
If I can fool myself a while ago that everything will be alright, now I don't know if that is still the case anymore.
My hands started to tremble.
"Let's play Russian roulette. Shall we? Plot twist, you're the only player."
I gulped. Has he gone stark raving mad?
Without dilly-dallying, he loaded a bullet into one of the chambers of his revolver. Spinning the cylinder, he stared back at me with a fiendish grin.
Before I could process anything, he placed the gun's muzzle near my head and fired.
The amount of shock that banged my system was unsurpassable, beyond comparison. Now I fully understand he wouldn't bat an eyelash just to eradicate a nobody like me.
"Oops, I missed. What are the odds, huh? Shall we try this again?"
I remembered my mother's pleading face once more. There's no way in hell I would die like this.
The bellend directed his gun towards me for the second time as tears kept falling down my eyes.
Before he could pull the trigger, I painfully uttered. "Don't kill me. I will do anything. Anything. Just. . spare me."
