Kate pov

I never thought I could feel this way about anyone, but with Evan, everything just felt right. Ever since he saved me from my own clan, I knew that I could trust him with my life. And as we spent more time together, I found myself falling for him, harder and faster than I ever thought was possible.

We were sitting in his study, going over some paperwork for the pack when he suddenly looked up at me with a serious expression on his face.

"Kate, we need to talk about something," he said, his voice low and grave.

I sat up straight, suddenly feeling a sense of unease wash over me. "What is it?" I asked, feeling my heart start to race.

"It's about your past," he said, his eyes searching mine. "I think there's something you need to know."

I felt a chill run down my spine. I had always known that my past was complicated, but I had never really talked about it with anyone. Not even my family. "What is it?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
