Chapter 65: Wrath

Not one light, but multiple lights blinded me from every direction. Instantly, a soothing coolness enveloped me, and I wanted to embrace the salvation. Hands held onto me, the skin comforting and gentle.

The teeth that were piercing my skin released saliva into my body, and it felt like a drug that softened all the pain I had experienced moments earlier. A growl sounded when my mind brushed against the presence that was still infiltrating my mind. I was no longer drowning in fear and heat, and had open air and clarity to feel what was going on in my mind.

Sam's presence was dark. Dangerous. Warning me to stay away. There was no light. Not a tiny inkling of light in his mind. It demanded hold of my mind and willed me to bend to him, it was urging me into submission. But there was no influence over me anymore, and he was in a weak position. My blood was literally flowing into his body.

With my own mind, I brushed against his. It bit me in response. But I didn't mind this kind of pain
