Chapter 23: Poker

The other men were talking to each other and I heard the occasional sound of a card being played with the words 'fold, raise, check.' When I walked back to Adrian, I glimpsed at their cards. They weren't hiding them from me, so I had an open view. I scanned the game with interest. My eyes roamed the table, where cards and poker chips lay. They were playing Texas Hold'em.

If I were a boy by Beyoncé started playing and I held in a smile. I took my place next to Adrian and noticed he had shit cards, compared to the other two I had seen. "Fold." I whispered super softly on a sigh. He froze.
