Chapter Sixty Eight

Jake's POV

A year ago, Jacob and Veronica asked me to give them the key to our family house in Maine Coast. My relationship with my siblings was finally improving and I didn’t want to destroy it because of the property that our father left me responsible for. I gave them the keys and never asked them what they had in mind about the house. They renovated it and surprised me by officially signing the papers of that house to my name one month ago. It was one of the many wedding gifts they gave to me.

And Elena wanted us to spend our wedding night in that house.

After two hours and thirty minutes of the drive, we arrived at our house and I decided to wake up my sleepy bride.

“Elena, baby, we are here,” I said, shaking her shoulder.

She was a heavy sleeper and showed no signs of waking up.

Arthur opened the car door and I handed him the keys of the house.

“I think I’ll have to carry her,” I said, picking my bride in my arms and pulling her out of the car.
