Chapter Thirty-nine Part 2

Because of what he said, I could not find the right poise and stance the moment it sank inside me that I am here to meet his Dad. I started to look around, clueless on what to do next since I haven’t think about this carefully and now, I want to regret everything— thinking that meeting his dad is like only meeting an old friend.

“Goodness–“

My words are cut off when I felt how Mister Dawson wrap his left arm around my waist, making me stand cold and stiff the moment he did that. I am about to complain when the gate slowly opens, showing a good-looking man maybe in his late fifties. I am not sure if I look alright right now but I force a smile on my face as soon as our eyes met.

“H-Hi!” I greeted.

“Ah, damn it.” Mister Dawson whispered so I look at him. With so much guts slowly building inside me, I move my right arm to Mister Dawson’s waist before I look back on his Dad.
