26. Lying to him

THE NEXT MORNING

"Where are you going?" Stephen's cold and domineering voice stopped her at her track. She was standing at the exit of his pack house when she heard him. Without looking she was hurrying away from there. She was still angry at him for yesterday night's behaviour.

"None of your business." She said in a disinterested tone after he stood in front of her, blocking her exit.

"That's now how you treat your husband, mate." Stephen taunted while eyeing her with a dark look on his face.

"My apologies, dear mate. Please accept my wholehearted apology. I am sure you have a lot to do. I won't take up your time anymore." She said all those positive words with absolutely no emotions on her face. "Excuse me." She pushed him aside before making an attempt to walk away. But her attempt was fruitless as she was stopped after hardly taking one step away from him. He held her hand and pulled her back in front of him.

"I have asked you a question." He reminded him in a cold tone which
