Chapter 30: Evil Mother-in-Law

I clutched my chest in surprise.

"Oh I thought you had a lot of paperwork and online meetings? Why are you here?" I wondered.

He didn't look at me. His narrowed eyes focused only on Paul who was on the far side of me.

"A-Ah, sir, I'll go first..." Paul said softly.

Paul beckoned to him and quickly left the kitchen at the hour mark.

"I'm just going to get some water," Edmund said and went straight to the fridge as if nothing had happened.

I frowned because in my old age there was a mini fridge and water dispenser in his office.

I folded my arms as I watched him drink water. He also washed the used glass and put it back in the container after drying.

"I have a meeting with Canadian investors. Are you going to do something?"

I immediately shook my head.

Maybe I'll just sleep in the hammock at the back of the house.

"I might need a secretary with me, want to come?"
