Chapter 44: Didn't Go Home

When I was satisfied with the arrangement of the table, I then went up to the room to take a shower and get dressed. I made sure I smelled good and my maroon bodycon dress was tangle-free.

I applied light make up and sprayed an expensive perfume just to make sure I look pleasant.

"Miss, why are you having a candlelit dinner? Is it your birthday?"

I smiled sparingly at a bodyguard before shaking my head.

"It's our third wedding monthsary. I just want to relax and celebrate."

"Oh, ma'am, we're going to bring out the food. You can just stay here on the balcony."

I hummed my thanks and let them return the food to the kitchen to arrange it on the terrace.

I texted Edmund about what time he would be home but I didn't receive a reply so maybe he is on his way home.

"It's all here, Miss," Roy said like a supervisor checking all the details.

He is the one I lit the candles in the penthouse. And of all, he was the most tired.

"Get some rest, especially those off duty. I'm fine here...
