Chapter 16 Confession

Selen's POV

I ran until my legs could take no more buckling beneath my body, I collapsed. My lungs burned and my stomach cramped. I was on the hard ground under a dim streetlight hunched over into a ball trying to catch my breath and ease the pain. I had ran for miles, with no destination, no plan in place. I had no idea where I was or what I was going to do. The cool air caressed my sweaty skin, bringing me the first sign of relief since I bolted out that door. Tears spilled from my eyes as I sat on my knees. My body rocking and shaking violently as I finally began to release my feelings into the world, unable to hold back anymore. I have no indication to how much time passed by while I sat there sobbing like a baby in the still night. All the questions of why my father would do this to me? How could he be okay with the way he did this to me? Did he expect me to be happy about this, about the man he chose to force on me? So many questions with no answer hung heavy on my heat pulling
