Liam stared with his jaw hanging open. He turned to face Joyce, who was equally as astonished as he was.

Ezra was a heartless, emotionless stone who never expressed any emotion to a living being who was not related to him.

For the first time, he appeared worried or was it care, Liam argued with himself.

He had observed that his behavior toward Sarah was extremely different, but he continued ignoring it because Sarah was such a stunning young woman.

The two watched as Ezra instructed one of the guards to carry Sarah, and they all ran out of the room.

He turned to face his secretary.

"What money? And where did you go and get it?" he asked.

Joyce narrated everything to her boss.

"I only wanted to help her, sir, especially since she looked like someone had slapped her hard in the face," she explained.
