His eyes darted toward me and exchanged glances with me and Amari. I quickly hid my son behind me.

“Go to your room sweetie,” I whispered.

Thankfully, the latter obeyed, and leave us alone.

“What are you doing here?” I asked straight into his eyes.

“What happened to your face?” He asked instead.

“What the f*ck are you talking about? Answer my question and leave!” I frustratedly exclaimed. Did he just see Amari that close and notice that he was his son?

“I came by to give you this.” He coldly stated and gave me a black envelope.

“You should’ve given this to me earlier, you should’ve not gone here Achilles.” I shot back.

His brows firmed in line. “Why? Are you hiding something from me, Jada?”

Why could I sense something from that question?

“What would it be then? Just leave, and it would be better if this will be the last time we’ll see each other.”
