38| Family Reunion

Nikki's POV 

With a heavy heart, I gave the puppy back to its owner. I wanted to hold it even more as it was very soft and delicate yet I couldn't keep it with me forever as it wasn't mine. I will surely have one pomeranian when I will get the chance to buy one. 

I was about to turn and look at Xaphan when I saw a little girl crossing the road alone. She was looking nearly three years old and was running on the streets blindly. I was fine until I saw a truck coming in her direction at full speed. 

My eyes widened and without thinking about the consequences I sprinted towards her to save her life. I lifted her as soon as I reached her and a loud shriek left my mouth when I saw the truck dangerously close to us. I could see from the glass that the driver was trying his best to stop the truck but it seems like the breaks aren't working.
