Lillian's POV

I stared at my phone screen, waiting for Marcus to call. I had been doing it for hours, but my eyes just got sore from the constant staring, and still, I received nothing.

Eventually, I heard the doorbell ring, and I rushed out of bed, hurrying down the stairs. I almost tripped, but I managed to reach the door without any injury.
