We continued to huddle together for a few more minutes, hugging and trying to comfort one another, until he stood up and asked me to follow him outside. During that time, we remained huddled together. We continued to be a unit throughout that time period. After I had already left, he made a motion toward a nearby parked car and pointed at it.

I approached it with extreme caution, and as I got closer, I could see him unlocking the door. He went to his desk and retrieved some papers, after which he handed them to me with the directive to read them written on the envelope: "Read it."

I blinked, confused, and we walked back inside his house; I took my time reading, then I glared at him, but he didn't seem to notice what I was doing "These are the papers relating to the partnership, sir! Particularly for the medical center."
