Damon's pov

As I heard my mother's words, I didn't feel any surprise or shock. I knew all too well that she wanted Elysia's company, no matter what it took.

The words stung, but I had grown accustomed to them over time. My mother's hate for Elysia's was deep.

I cannot help but feel a deep sense of sadness and frustration at the situation with my wife, Elysia, and my mother.

My mother has made it clear that she despises Elysia and, to make matters worse, she wickedly desires Elysia's company.

It is all part of a sinister plan to keep Elysia dependent on me. I know my mother will never cease to ensure that she can never fully break away and become her own person.

I know that my mother's desire to control and dominate is rooted in her own insecurities and fears, but that knowledge does little to ease the burden of the situation.
