The bullet went through and through. It somehow found a way to twist up between three veins right above her heart. It was a tricky case since anything could make her die. Meredith was a fighter, she would survive but I just had to make it possible.

"Grace, hand me the long needle in my case," I said to a nurse after observing the bullet, "the long silver one in a green pack," she looked around a little before she handed it to me. The case was my father's who inherited it from his father and his father from his father. We always add more equipment and upgrade the case and tools but make sure the case remains the main body. Family tradition.

I unwrapped the needle and carefully held it because it was slippery. It was invented by my father's private scientist who went the extra mile to create tools that helped us. We just didn't share it since not all would agree with them.
