First date

Meredith's standpoint

The anticipation of something can be the death of anyone. At first, I was okay, but the closer we got to the five-star restaurant, the more nervous I got as I anticipated his reaction. Would he be as shocked as Elmo? Or momentarily lose his voice or just stand there frozen? Would he immediately come to kiss me? What if he doesn't even react at all? What if he just does what he usually does, smile? What if indeed he is a homo? I will commit suicide if that should be the case.

There was fear laced with my nervousness, the fear of him not reacting at all was strong. After everything and he doesn't show a sign that he appreciates what he sees, then I'm completely finished. If suicide doesn't please me, I'll devote my life to a convent or embrace lesbianism because then I would be certain I'm cursed never to be with a man.

"Here we are, miss," I looked around the place and gulped.

"Thank you, Elmo. You said I should just walk in and find table forty-nine, right?"
