"Not so fast, princess," he looked deep into my eyes. I was instantly charmed. Mordecai smirked as he put one arm underneath his head while his other hand kept pulling me closer until my chest was against his. I placed my forearms on his chest to add a little space between us—not that it helped. I raised my gaze from his chest to his face, angling my head backward a little. I looked into his green eyes and sighed, he was gazing back at me with lustful hunger and affection, his hand on my waist turning hotter and almost making me feel like butter in heat.

The thin night dress I borrowed from Daddy's late wife's belongings suddenly felt thinner, feeling like I wasn't even wearing anything. My heart hammered against my chest, my body did something creepy and strange, something I had never felt before in my whole life. Just by him looking down at me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered, the only food he wanted to eat.
