‘She is really like an old picture that I have.’

Gazing at my mother, the one I missed dearly during my hardest times, I was overwhelmed by a tumultuous mix of emotions. Anger, blame, longing, and a profound sense of loss intermingled within me. These feelings, too deep and complex to fully grasp, caused tears to suddenly cascade down my cheeks. All the emotions I had bottled up for so long broke free like a dam bursting.

“Aurora.” My mother approached me.

“Don’t!” I yelled, my voice reverberating with anger and hurt. An inexplicable force drove me to reject her. After all, she couldn't just walk back into my life as if nothing had happened. “Have you ever considered how much I suffered from bullying because I had no mother?”

Silence hung heavily between us.

“Do you understand the agony of constantly being asked about my parents?” I screamed, my voice cracking under the weight of suppressed pain. “Why did you even give birth to me if you were just going to abandon me?”
