Chapter 133

CLAIRE's POV

My night was sleepless. I tossed and turned around on the bed, my mind buried in my thoughts and anxiety. I would occasionally glance at the window, desperately as I waited for the sun to rise.

It was morning now, and my anxiety was at its peak. I kept replaying Daniel and Dominik’s words over in my head. I had finally decided. I would meet with Daniel under the maple tree like he said.

I had more questions I wanted to ask him, and since I was going to be banished, it was the right thing to do. I sat straight on my bed, my feet tapping the ground as I nibbled on my fingernails.

I had waited in my room for hours, alone with nothing but my hazardous thoughts. I could not get the look Dominik had on his face out of my mind. He looked angry and frustrated, but most of all, there was a hint of sadness in the way he looked at me and the way he spoke.
