DOMINIK's POV

I groaned and brushed my hands over the other side of the bed, expecting to feel another life form beside me. But to my disappointment, I was met with the cold surface of the empty bed.

My eyes shot open and I confirmed that the bed indeed was empty. Where on earth had Claire disappeared to? I looked towards the dangling wall clock for the time and quickly noted that it was barely sunrise.

I pulled myself up into a sitting position, the covers still laying on my body. My eyes moved to the position Claire had occupied the night before and memories came pouring into my mind like a flood.

My plan was no to touch her. I was only meant to talk to her, and ask her more questions about the wolf clan and how she escaped, but my primal nature had gotten the best of me.
