Chapter Twenty Eight

CLAIRE's POV

Luis took a hasty and concerned step backwards as I stared at Dominik, heart in my stomach.

What did he think he was doing here? He had been ignoring me all fucking day, what was I saying? He had been acting like I never existed at all for almost a week now, so why was he here now?

Since our angry clash in that forest, Dominik had taken a trip away from the pack. No words to me, no nothing.

I had been really hurt about that but I used the excuse of rigorous pack trainings to put my mind off the troubles I was feeling. I used it to shift the heartache away from me. I had needed it just as much as Elide had needed the distraction. We took it hard, working ourselves into oblivion both in the human form and wolf form.

We both worked hard during the day sweating both water and blood form the rigorous trainings. And at night, we both nursed our wounds alone, both heart and body.
