FIRST DAY AT WORK

Karen knocked once on the door just as she had seen Mrs Connie do before she entered.

As she expected, Jay was engrossed with work.

For some seconds she stood wondering what she was supposed to say. If she was supposed to say something or just delve straight to what had brought her to his office.
