For the millionth time this week I sat in my room and reread what I had so far of my statement. I planned on making an appearance and speaking in front of everyone instead of simply releasing a statement. I didn't get the title of “baddest bitch” by acting meek, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to start now.
“After the recent headlines, I decided it was time to be entirely open and honest about everything, and hopefully clear up some things for you, the media. I began the partnership with Knightingdale Suits after my company was hit with financial hardship. I approached Mr. Knight even though I was aware of his reputation with women - I thought I could handle it. I ended up having an inappropriate workplace relationship with Mr. Knight, which resulted in my unplanned pregnancy.
The night of the accident, Dominic found out about the baby, and he wasn't happy. He had me get into his car later that night and began driving rDominic POVI was seated in my office when I got alerted of a new email. I glanced up to my computer monitor and did a double-take when I recognized the email that it came from.I stopped what I was working on and focused my attention on the monitor, opening my email. Sure enough, at the very top, there was a message from a miss Stephanie M. Greene waiting for me in bold letters, the subject line saying: READ THIS OR REGRET IT FOREVERI lifted an eyebrow at that. Damn. This girl gets right down to the point. I’m kind of turned on with her straightforwardness, to be honest. I clicked on it and read the contents, my eyes narrowing and my jaw clenching the further into it I got.The pencil I had been holding snapped in half from the pressure I put on it while my fists tightened. This bitch is threatening me. Not just me, she's threatening my company. I already have a poor re
I was laying on the examination table next to the ultrasound and speaking casually with my gynecologist when the door unexpectedly flew open.“Dominic?!” I panicked.“Hey, baby.” He smiled and casually walked closer to me.If I weren’t on this table with my shirt up halfway and in the presence of another person, I would run the hell out of here as fast as possible. What the fuck is he doing here? And how did he know where I was?“I’m sorry, and you are?” The doctor asked over her shoulder to him.Dominic smiled at her. “I’m the father.”“Oh, how wonderful.” The doctor returned his smile and resumed her work, placing the gel on my belly before the transducer probe.I looked at Dominic with fearful eyes. Dammit, why did I ask to go to this appointment alone?
“What the fuck are you talking about?”“Careful with the language,” he teased, “there's a child present. You know they can hear you at this point.”I glared at him.He inhaled deeply and announced to me, “I bought us a house.”“A what now?”“A house. For you, me, and him.” He motioned to my belly.A line appeared between my brows as I looked at him like he was crazy. “You tried to kill me. What makes you think I would move in with you?!”“I told you, I’ve had a change of heart.” He placed his hand over his chest and patted over his heart. “I want to make things right.”I scoffed at him. “I will never do such a thing.”“Don’t you want us to
3rd Person POVAs the Greene's were seated for dinner that same night of Stephanie’s appointment, and after everyone had celebrated the news of the baby being a boy, Stephanie decided to tell them what happened.“Dominic showed up to my appointment today.”Both Emma and Matthew froze and stared at their daughter. “What?”“He said that he bought a house and wants me to move in with him. He thinks it would give the illusion that everything was a misunderstanding and that we are going to be a family.”“You can’t seriously be considering doing this, are you?” Emma asked her daughter.“I’ll set boundaries and we will have rules. But I thought about it… and I think I know what to do.”“And what’s that?”
My conditions were set and agreed upon with Dominic, and I was moving into the new house within the week. The house was gorgeous and exactly what I always imagined myself living in. It had twin staircases that greeted you as you entered and a chandelier hanging between them. Beyond the staircases leads you to a large living area that was fit for royalty; plush furniture of warm hues filled the room modestly, the artwork that adorned the walls were of complimenting colors, and the windows were large and looked out over the vast scene of greenery in the garden.Maybe when all this is over, I could win possession of the house? My parents oversaw everything and were with me through every step, refusing to leave my side, especially when Dominic was around.“I’ll be fine, you guys,” I insisted to them as I tried to usher them out the front door after our final day o
I wore a simple blue dress that didn’t show off too much of my baby bump to the birthday party that Dominic and I were invited to at his sister’s house. I hated the lack of security here, but I didn’t have much of a choice than to suck it up and push through if I wanted Dominic to think that I wanted to be a family with him.His sister Gwen is supposed to be the “nice one of the family,” and I hope I can talk to her about pregnancy a little - maybe learn some tricks for morning sickness or something. Then again… Do I trust Dominic's sister? Do I trust anyone with the last name Knight? I’m unsure. Our driver pulled up to a modestly sized home that was painted in a blue color with white trimmings and a brown roof. There was a single tree out front with a tire swing attached that appeared to be in slightly worn condition as if it were frequently used. ‘This seems like a gre
Dominic and I sat together on some lawn chairs out back as we watched the kids play various games. There was cornhole, duck duck goose, limbo, a piñata for later, and Gwen was playing Simon says with about four kids in one corner of the lawn.“You seem less than thrilled to be here,” I mentioned casually to Dominic. He grunted as a response. “What? You don’t like spending time with your sister or nephew?”“In small doses,” he answered. “And certainly not with thirty other children.”Dylan came running up to us. “Uncle Dominic! Come play cornhole with us, I need a partner!”“Gah… I don’t really feel like it, buddy.”Dylan looked visibly upset, so I moved to the edge of my chair and told him with a friendly smile, “I'll be your partner.”
I had thought that I would feel anxious and paranoid being away from the house with all the cameras, but I felt strangely at home with Gwen and all of the kids from Dylan’s class running around. It made me excited to be a mom and have my own experiences like that. The fact that Gwen was so hesitant on sharing about her pregnancy was somewhat confusing, but I brushed it aside and told myself that she just wasn’t comfortable enough with me yet to share such things.I was resting in my bedroom after a long day when my phone rang. I picked it up and saw Isaac's name and photo on the screen.“Hello?”“Stephanie, what the fuck?!”My eyes widened as he used my full name - he never does that! He always calls me Steph!“What’s wrong?”“What’s wrong?” He
