Claudius's POV I was so nervous I could barely think straight, as I looked at myself for the 100th time, and smooth my shirt out, one too many times. Dominic sat on my bed, laughing at me as I fussed over the way I looked. "I can't, it's too much fun watching you do the same thing over and over again! But I'm curious, how many times will it take for you to run your hands over your shirt before it's actually straight enough for you?" Dominic flinches, his hand quickly lifts into the air and deflects the hairbrush I just threw at him. Unfortunately, this had the opposite effect, and the jerk simply laughed even harder, and I growled at him. "I'm sorry! I know I'm laughing, but it's not because you're doing anything wrong. You're just too adorable!" As much as I wanted to pluck his eyes out a moment ago, I couldn't help but blush like an idiot and tried not to smile as I looked anywhere but Dominic. My nerves were through the roof the closer we got to the human town. I chewed on
Ethan's POV I stood there, frozen and unable to move as I watched him drive away. I felt an ache in my chest the further away he got. I took a step forward as the car was almost out of sight and I rubbed my chest as it began to hurt. I looked down at my hand, the one that held his, and wondered what in the hell was that. What was that sensation? I felt every time I touched his hand or every time he touched me. I thought I kept shocking him. But this time it was different. This time it was stronger, and I felt it move up my arm before coursing through my body. Why am I so drawn to him? Why do I have such strong feelings for someone I just met today? I feel like I've known him forever. But yet I don't know enough. I felt it the moment I looked into his eyes when I met him in the park. I felt a strange pull as I looked into his beautiful hazel eyes. I've never felt so attracted to someone before. I've never wanted someone as badly as I want him. I can't stop thinking about him.
Third Person's POV Just like the first date, Ethan showed up way too early. But he couldn't help it. He was afraid Claudius would get there early, and he couldn't stand the thought of Claudius waiting on him. Just like the first date, Ethan showed up 20 minutes early, and paced in front of the building, worried Claudius wouldn't show. It wouldn't be the first time. He's had many dates, where the jerks never showed. One of them wasn't even gay. He played a cruel joke and pretended to be gay, and interested in Ethan. They chatted for weeks. He had high hopes for that relationship. He sounded perfect, and he was constantly complimenting Ethan, and making him feel special. Unfortunately, when it came time for their date, Ethan showed up early. An hour and a half later, the person still had not shown up. Instead, he received a phone call. He could hear his date laughing with his friends, teasing him as they sent him pictures of Ethan waiting for a date that would never show. B
Third Person's POV Ethan was beyond nervous as he walked around his apartment one more time, making sure everything was just right. "Shit!" He whispered when he looked at his phone, and realized he should have been downstairs 3 minutes ago. Not that it was time for Claudius to arrive yet, but he likes to be early, so Claudius isn't standing there waiting. He raced down the stairs, hoping this isn't the one time Claudius is early. He feels relief wash over him as he races out the door, and he doesn't see Claudius anywhere. He looks around for a moment, then nibbles on his lip, and looks at his phone again before he begins pacing. Claudius pulls the overhead mirror down in the car and looks at himself again. "You look the same as you did two minutes ago!" Dominic said and flinched when Claudius punched him in the arm. "Hey! Haven't you ever heard it's dangerous to hit the driver?" Dominic said as he laughed. "I can't help it, I'm so nervous! I can't believe I'm going to his ap
Third Person's POV "So wait a minute, back up. You said I'm not your first mate. I'm your third... You said your first one died. What happened to your second one then?" Ethan asked, and Claudius took a deep breath. "He didn't die or anything like that. He just, he rejected me in a way. He's not accepting me because of what I am. That's the reason I'm sick. With werewolves, there's a ranking system that you're born into, it's in your DNA. The highest rank is an Alpha, and the lower ranks are like me, a Delta 3. But I'm not just any Delta 3. I'm a dominant Delta 3. This means I can't get pregnant. Which also means I can't produce an heir for my mate. And since he's an Alpha and runs the pack, he needs an heir. Because of this, he refuses to accept me, but he hasn't officially rejected me either. With humans, when you break up or something like that, you're simply sad, your heart is broken. With werewolves, it's much more complicated. We can lose our wolves if we're too weak.
Third Person's POV Both Ethan and Claudius squeaked as Alpha Hughes tossed them onto the bed, and they bounced. Ethan laid there stunned. His wide eyes blinked ever so often. It was as though his mind had turned to mush, and he couldn't think of anything. Claudius quickly looks around, realization sets in that he is in the Alpha's bedroom, and on the Alpha's bed. The furthest into the Alpha's apartment he's ever been, was just inside the door, near the living room. So many times Claudius dreamt of seeing the Alpha's bedroom, dreamt of being in here. But now that he's actually here, he wants to be as far away from it as possible. Claudius quickly scrambles off the bed and walks past Hughes, wanting to leave. Hughes grabs his wrist and turns Claudius around. "What are you doing?" "Leaving!" "What, why?" "Because I am not accepting you just because now you can have what you want. I am not an afterthought! If you wanted me, you should have accepted me before, not because you sud
Third Person's POV Claudius pushed the door open and entered his room feeling numb. He was trying to wrap his head around everything Hughes said. It all makes sense, and he can understand it, but he can't understand why he had to be so cold about it. He still feels that Hughes could have seen him secretly. Claudius could have kept his room, and pretended to stay there, but snuck up to see him each night. No one ever goes on the Alpha's floor, except Colton. They could have easily pulled it off. But instead, he was so cold to him and treated him as if he was nothing. But then at times, he would do something to show he cared, and get his hopes up, just to turn around and crush them. "Are you okay?" Ethan asked, his left hand goes to Claudius's waist, and the right hand rests against his cheek. "Yes... I'm just, I'm torn... I so badly want to accept his apology and forget everything like it never happened... But I'm afraid. He hurt me so many times... I just don't know! He cou
Third Person's POV Colton knew Claudius had been busy the past week. He knew Dominic had spent a lot of time with Claudius, taking him into the human town to get away from everything. That worked out great for Colton since he just found his mate. It gave him a chance to get to know Timothy without feeling guilty for neglecting Claudius. Colton smiled when he looked at his sleeping little kitten, with his tail tucked under his chin, and smiled. He couldn't get over how cute and adorable his little mate is. Once he was certain his little kitten was still sleeping, Colton slipped away and ran downstairs. He was eager to find out why Claudius brought a human home, and why in the world the Alpha carried them both away. For a moment, Colton thought for certain the Alpha was going to throw them in the dungeon. But instead, the Alpha surprised Colton when he carried them into the pack house instead. Dominic was useless, he refused to tell Colton what was going on with the human. He said
