"Can I come in?" My sister's voice rang from outside the door but I couldn't respond. I pulled my blanket over my head and buried myself underneath the blankets. "I'm coming in," she said and opened my door and I released a gruff sound voicing out my disapproval for her intruding.
She tugged at my blanket and I held it in a tight grip. "Xania," she said and I held on tighter and she responded by pulling it harder.
"Let go," I whined, pulling the blanket and she responded by putting more force. "No," I carried on whining and she released a growl.
"COME ON," she groaned, pulling and she eventually won, throwing the blankets on the floor. She looked at me annoyed and she was breathing heavily. I glared at her and huffed turning my body and laid face down pushing my face into the pillows. "Xania!" She said a
I sat in my office reading through the documents for tonight. Paging through the pages and the targets, I once again read the specifications for the umpteenth time, something didn't make sense and it was bugging me. 'I called out your name, but it wasn't you that came, THEO IT WASN'T YOU!' I groaned, closing my eyes, slamming my fists against the desk, is this why I can't focus? Threading my fingers in my hair, I pressed my face against the desk and released a huge sigh. It hurts. Why does it hurt? I pulled out my phone and I scrolled through my gallery, littered with Xania's pictures and videos. I scrolled through the pictures I had taken of her when she was painting, she was on her knees with one paintbrush pushed against her middle ear,
Cassandra... pregnant? I stared at them both confused and irritated but mostly hurt. So was he... "Xania," Theo began and I shook my head smiling. "I came to tell you that it's almost time to go to the auction," I said, dismissing whatever explanation he wanted to give me. "Congratulations Cassandra," I said softly with a smile and she nodded smiling. I walked back into the house and it was kind of hard to ignore the igniting pain in my heart. But I'm not supposed to care anymore, I promised Zada that much. That I won't care. I took a huge breath in and carried on my way to the room that had my clothes. I couldn't possibly say it's mine, especially seeing that today was my last day here.
I came out of my room changed into my dress, having retouched my makeup, I still couldn't find the courage to look up. Once I got to the end of the hallway, I took a deep breath in and smiled, fake it till you make it! As soon as I stepped into the living room I heard whistles and claps and I smiled at Leo. "And the most gorgeous woman we've ever met walks into the room, the crowd erupts in cheers!" He said and clapped his hands harder. "You look beautiful, Nia!" He winked at me and I chuckled, shaking my head. "You don't look so bad either, but your bow tie is crooked, " I said, fixing his tie. "That's better, are you going to be charming all the girls tonight?" I asked him and he gave me a knowing smile. "You know the vibes baby!" I high fived him and we laughed about it.
Theo and I entered the dealership with our arms hooked around each other, the moment had passed and had made the tension feel lighter. In the lobby, there was a woman in a red dress and her brunette hair was bundled up at the top of her head making a neat bun. She kept a professional smile as Theo logged in his details, and I also had to do the same. Something about it being necessary precautions."Hope you enjoy the event," she said as we walked away into the venue. I was in awe! The cars around us were definitely not like the ones you would see on a normal day of walking down the street. These were classy, luxurious, posh and expensive! I'm probably repeating the same thing using different words but anyone with eyes, even a blind man, could see what fortune was around me right now!"How are you so calm
"How about the lady next to Theo Walder?" Andrew said and I looked to Theo’s left and noticed that was the end of the aisle. "The one in the black shiny dress," he said pointing to me and I looked at Theo and he cocked his head slightly giving me the go-ahead."I- uh, I didn't volunteer though," I said with a giggle as I accepted Andrew's hand that helped me climb up the stairs."Your beauty charmed me," he said flirting and I had the urge to roll my eyes and gag but instead I giggled touching his shoulder slightly."Ahahaha, you're so sweet, aha," I giggled, this is exhausting. I'd rather be in bed watching some drama about people falling in love without one of them being married or anything so bizarre, I'm just saying.Andrew chuckled and
I drove into Theo's driveway in Michaels car and I found Leo and Adam already waiting for me."Xania Evans! That was so badass!" Leo screamed as he ran towards me and threw me over his shoulder as he spun around. I screamed along with him while I begged him to put me down. "The way you reversed out of that building and winked at Mike as he pissed his pants, don't get me started on the stunt you did with 'testing' out those positions, you even got Adam here hard as rocks," he said jokingly and I laughed shaking my head. I passed him the keys as Adam walked over to us."That was hot! Who would've thought our Xania would go out with a literal bang," Adam said and I laughed, shaking my head."You guys are all talking about me, can we please appreciate Luke's act as Andrew!" I said as Luke pulled
"U-ugh," I groaned as I opened my eyes. Why does my body hurt so much? I brought my hands to rub- wait, why can't I move my hands? I pulled at them once more and felt restraints on them. In a panic, I finally assessed where I was. The room is dark and I can see little light pouring in through the cracks in the walls. Wait a minute, I've been here before... "Hello?" I called out and heard no response. "Adam? Leo, Luke?" No response again. "If you guys are playing tricks on me, this isn't funny!" I yelled and still, there was no response. I shift in the chair feeling uncomfortable and felt that something was wrong. "Did you guys take off my bra! I'm going to kill you once I'm out of these bonds!" Once again, the response I received was silence.
The twins and I sat quietly in the waiting room, anxiously waiting for the doctors operating on Xania to tell us something. I looked at my hands dried up with her blood, my shirt was no different. I stared at my hands and all I could think about was how this was my fault.A lot of ‘What-if’ thoughts had passed through my mind and the result still all came down to one thing, it’s my fault.“Where’s my sister!” My head turned to where the screaming came from. She looked hysterical and her hands were balled up into fists on the counter as she questioned her sister's whereabouts.“Zada,” I croaked out and cleared my throat. “Zada!” I said with a deeper voice, she looked over to us and I could see her bloodshot eyes. She released a breath befor
