Selena's POV

A knock on my office door interrupted my work. My assistant entered, a wide smile on her face as she deposited a banquet of roses on my desk.

"Delivery for you," she announced before leaving me to my floral surprise.

Picking up the attached card, I discovered the sender wasn't Diego, but Jake. Confusion clouded my mind. Why was he sending me flowers again?

I relegated the flowers to a corner of my desk, attempting to refocus on work. Yet, my thoughts kept drifting back to the events at the house. Could Jake have genuinely mistaken my mother for Gracie?

The whole situation defied logic. Though somewhat similar, the two women were far from identical. Agitated, I paced my office. Now I understood why Jake stressed memorizing everyone's names – it hadn't seemed so strange at the time. I shook my head in disbelief. It couldn't be true.
