Chapter 17 - Shattered Sanity

"Who said a maid's job wasn't hard?" Josie questioned wearily as she tried to wash the dirty dishes.

Last night they had slept at midnight and got up at 4 am this morning to clean the house and prepare for the boss's return.

She was so tired that she couldn't even keep her eyes open; she had to rely on black coffee and drugs to stay on her feet.

But something kept bothering her; unlike before, no movements or sounds were coming from upstairs.

No matter how quiet the night was, she always woke up to loud and eerie screams, but now nothing was happening, and it felt strange for some reason. Was it because she had gotten used to it or something? She pondered.

Sighing, "I hope she is okay," Josie murmured and continued with her work.

Ken yawned tiredly behind Lucian as soon as the jet landed.

"Morning, sleeping beauty," Lucian greeted him, shaking his head as he yawned again.

"Sorry… sir," Ken blurted out while yawning yet again.
