CHAPTER 21~ FEAR

A cottage came into view soon, a small house that sat by itself amongst the tall trees. It was painted in white, made solely by wood, and there were vines growing up its walls. It must’ve been here for a while and yet it was still so pretty. He could hear water running, but before he could even look for the source, he was dragged up to the wooden door of the house. Verya let go of his hand to unlock the door with one of the two keys she had.

She pushed it open, stepping inside before hauling him behind her. “Verya…I-I’m sorry.”

The door was slammed shut, frightening him and his back was shoved against it. “Do I look like a f*cking joke to you?!”

Sathe shook his head, his fear rising at the way she was looking at him. The inside of the house was mostly dark since there wasn’t much light coming in, the windows were probably locked, the doors too and the lights were off, but even in the darkness, he could see the anger that shone in her hazel eyes.
