Verya sat by a tree in a completely unknown forest, feasting on the meat Jake had hunted. Sathe looked down at his bloody body with a sick smile on his lips. He didn’t know why, but the fact that the blood on his bare skin was for once not his gave him a sense of superiority. The voice was rumbling in his head, dark and alluring, nothing he was afraid of, and the dead bodies he stepped on as he walked out of a havoc he created pleased him greatly. Verya pocketed her hands as she continued into the woods. The sun was rising, and though she didn’t sleep much through the night, her steps were energetic, and her eyes wide open. Jake, Ethan and Aron were walking in front of her…all three were unwanted company, but the more help, the better, right? Sighing, her eyes drifted through the bushes with a sad gleam in them. She missed Sathe…it had been two days of searching now and she couldn’t pick up a trace of him. Would he really not return to her? And did she have the right to look for him when he left willingly? As the fae said, the cave wasn’t far, it was at the very bottom of the mountain, dark and quiet. Verya had never been one to look forward to a long walk, and this time it was no different. The fae had said it was close, but this was by far the furthest she’d ever walked on two legs with a destination in mind. She wanted to forfeit, to give it all up, but she had to remind herself that it was all for a good cause. ‘For Sathe…’ She thought, groaning as she took a look at the long way ahead. Why was Sathe doing this to her? Her glossy eyes drifted up, meeting the horrendous sight of a creature she didn’t wish to see. Its eyes were black, all the natural whites eradicated and taken over. Its red fur was soaked in blood giving it a stench that made it seem a lot more dangerous than it probably was… It had no humanity in those eyes…it seemed lost, only remembering how to kill and it was doing just that. Every arrow that came at it was proven to be of no good, even when they pierced the creature it didn’t cry out in pain…instead it effortlessly pushed them back out. Did it perhaps get stronger? Was its healing ability almost immediate now? Verya shook her head, it wasn’t the time to assess its strength, she had to stop Jake. Her eyes shifted back down, spotting Jake who had already transformed into his wolf form. He looked tiny when compared to the beast, but in truth, his wolf was just as big as hers. His body was putting pressure on her injured shoulder, she wouldn’t be able to get far like this, but she had to try. Jake would be suspicious if he found her with a naked Sathe covered in fae blood. She had to find them water where they both could wash what was supposed to be a secret off of them.However, even with the determination, she didn’t get far enough, she had to stop when the pain got too much…and still, she had to change forms in order to keep Sathe warm when the evening
