The place was desolated, filled with fallen houses and half complete structures. The whole derelicts was drowned in a patches of green showing that though the owners and their children might have left this place, Nature still counts it as its own. 

In sharp contrast to the desolation, is the blooming greens and verdant vestiges of a fertile land. 

"What am I going to do here? Where am I to follow? " Tom asked himself. 

Dipping his hands into his ever loyal handbag, he shuffles around a while before springing out with a piece of moldy tattered paper parchment.
