POV. Isabella Di’Giotanno.

Confused by Sonya’s statements, I ask her, “to whom he lie?” She sighs melancholy, as she says, “Your highness, there are truths that are too terrible to be told. I’ll just tell you we are united by a common enemy, and that is your father. Francesco did a lot of damage to this coven, and we have not stopped until we found his whereabouts.” I nod at her words and say, “Are you aware that everyone thinks he is here? The military intelligence of the royal pack was led to believe that.”

She seems to think for a moment and then responds, “I am not surprised, your highness.” She scratches the bridge of her nose, sighs, and says, “Francesco stole the powers of one of us. He did it using a relic from our mother. This has allowed him to get us into trouble, since every crime he commits makes it look like we committed it. The entire coven has been in lockdown because of that. We know it’s our only alibi.”
