There I was minding my own business, leisurely walking along the path leading out of the Hudson estate, impatiently waiting for my father to finish his ‘important’ business call so he could drop me off at school on his way to work. When out of nowhere this clumsy badly dressed little fool with horrible glasses, bumped right into me. In this day in age haven’t she heard of contact lens? And even though she apologies almost instantly, this idiot didn’t show the slightest respect by looking at the person she just rudely ran into.
However, the strangest thing happened right after… she was actually chased by an expensive Audi with its driver poking his head a bit out the window seemingly shouting for the surprisingly fast weirdo to stop running. Unintentionally, I found myself smiling at how crazy the entire scene appeared.
“Now that’s not something you see every day.” A charming middle-age man probably in his early forties said casually opening the car door before stepping out beside his dazed son.
“Yeah, especially in such a boring neighborhood.” Jeremy commented on his father’s word without realizing it.
“What?” Thomas Adams asked confusedly then stated, “I was talking about the actual smile on your face…. what were you …?”
With an awkward cough the teenager asked deflectively, “can we leave now?”
“Sure.” It was best not to further ruin the rarely seen side of the usually cold boy.
The two figures quickly got into the luxurious Maybach, disappearing into the distance. At eighteen years old, Jeremy Adams was the typical Mr. popular of West-Bay Academy. The triple H of the college… Handsome… Hot…. Heartbreaker. Well at least that’s what many chose to believe despite the fact that the latter title wasn’t physically proven. As the quarterback of the school’s football team, for some reason instant fame somehow always seemed to latch onto those with either a wealthy family background or in his case… the ‘right’ appearance to capture unwanted attention. Although he could most likely afford his own car, Jeremy tried his best to distant himself from the crowd which unlucky for him, found his actions even more intriguing.
On some level he was more of an extraordinary anti-socialist. Students thought he was quite mysterious whereas teachers appreciated his mature demeanor. He would hang with the crew but often laidback and silently observe… his personality made him appeared both cool and dangerous as a young lad.
“So, you all set for the game on Friday?” Mr. Adams questioned as they were nearing the school’s entrance.
“Yeah…”
Sighing loudly at his son’s lack of communication skills, Mr. Adams could only shake his head in apprehension saying, “this is your final year, keep up the good work and after it’s all done you can join me at the company….”
“What if I don’t want to do an office work? can’t I just apply to med. school and start an internship there?”
“Ha! Med. school? Are you kidding me? I thought we talked about this already… I’ve worked hard to build the company to what it is today, I can’t just let it fall into the hands of shareholders in the future… you are my only son so the business must be taken over by you when the time is right.”
“What about Chelsey?”
“She’s a girl, besides she lives with your mother now and we both agreed to stay out of each other’s lives, your sister should be the one thinking about some silly doctor’s internship, not you!”
Realizing there was no point in arguing, Jeremy remained silent as the vehicle finally came to a stop. Without saying goodbye, he abruptly opened the doors and walked out, ignoring his dads’ displeased grumble. Yet another failed attempt of a father son ‘discussion’.

“Hey! Dude…. What’s up?” Marcus Barkley rushed forth sloppily throwing his weight on Jeremy as he entered the crowded halls.
“Fool! Get your paws off me… I’m not some one of your little girl-toy.” The teenager felt unfortunate to have such a shameless best friend.
“Chill okay, you’re beautiful and all but just not my type…. Your chest needs a lot of silicone.”
“Idiot!” Jeremy hopelessly shook his head, shrugging away the annoying Marcus as they duo headed to their lockers grabbing the needed books for their first class session.
“So, what’s the deal with you and that bratty barbie doll? opps I mean cheerleader, Miss what’s her name?”
“Britney, and she’s my girlfriend.”
“Yes, right her that’s what I said… anyways I heard she told some people you guys were planning to get engaged after graduation and you would take over your family company….” Marcus paused peeking from the corners of his locker, keenly observing Jeremy’s reaction, obviously aware of his brief hesitation and clenched fist. Then continued, “So you’re no longer interested in being a gynecologist?”
Slamming his own locker closed with a loud bang! Jeremy corrected, “cardiologist, you moron!”
“Ha! Imagine how awesome my suggestion would have been, maybe I should switch fields as well…. Then again, my mother would probably skin me alive… Humm… anyways what about barbie… Britney, I mean Britney, are you guys going to….”
“No, don’t worry about it. I’ll just have to try harder to convince my dad business isn’t in my blood.”
“And if that doesn’t work? cause lets face it, when you say talk it’s more like shut up and listen, accept his plans and move on…. Just like dating Miss barbie doll Hudson.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Jeremy defended clearly in an unbelievable manner.
“Oh really? So why was it that you guys started dated? … oh, wait you have only been on a date once but somehow she’s your ‘girlfriend’, and don’t pull that ‘I love her’ crap with me, I’m not that easy to fool okay!”
“We’ve been out on more than one date…” Jeremy reasoned, but yet again Marcus retorted… “business dinner with your families clearly does not count as a date dude!”
“Be a man! Dump that fake plastic….”
“Hi! Jerbear, miss me?” A sudden cheery voice echoed from behind the two as a slender playful beauty approached, twirling her blond silky hair with her index fingers trying to give off a sweet seductive smile
“Speak of the witch and here she comes flying in on her broom-stick…” Marcus muttered caring less whether or not he was heard, then added, “His name is Jeremy, not Jere, Jeri, Jerbear or any other ridiculous pet phrase your tiny mind comes up with.”
Acting shocked and aggrieved Britney looked towards her boyfriend hoping for his help, but just then without warning, yet again out of nowhere someone bumped right into the motionless teen.
*******************************
Today just doesn’t seem to be my day, first I had to be lectured by my mom for my choice of outfit. Which was quite a normal thing, but because she started earlier than usual, I had to escape before breakfast. Then almost like a routine getaway from uncle Sam, I tried taking my safe path out, but yet again my plans got disrupted when he managed to track me down… now what am I supposed to do in the future? The last thing I want is to be seen as another attention worthy Miss popular arriving in an eye-catching Audi. The less noticeable I am, the less trouble I’ll be in. Well that worked for the first few years. Unfortunately, I guess all my luck finally ran out. Besides being spotted or rather bumping directly into the one and only triple 'H' of our school.... Handsome, Hot, Heartbreaker... ‘Jeremy Adams’, who was obviously staring at me like I am some sort of weirdo; I was also captured by the energetic uncle Sam this tim
As usual, rushing to first period was hectic. The packed halls, pushing and forcing their way to whichever direction they were headed. Miss Joy had quickly lost tract of the fleeing girl, so did the three pairs of eyes caught in a wind of uncertainty. Although the bell had interrupted the one-sided dispute, Britney was still fuming with anger as if a certain green-eyed monster had awakened, eating at her flesh…. Jealousy was rotten to the core. From her prospective the little miss nobody wanted to create a scene by directly bumping into the school’s most popular figures with the goal of gaining some sort of recognition or fame, perhaps even with the motive of challenging her status as Jeremy’s girlfriend. On the contrary, she was simply threatened by her own imagination. As with any other fruitless fights, the matter was quickly forgotten, i
‘I’ve never being this anxious in my life to escape an awkward encounter, gush what a terrible morning. Not only did I bumped into my secrete crush once, but twice within a matter of hours. To say I made a complete fool of myself would be an understatement. Like any other sane girl at West-Bay Academy, my naïve little heart fluttered at his touch and mesmerizing scent…. Teenage hormones are a ticking time bomb,’ Erika concluded as she sat at her usual secluded spot to the farthest end of the classroom. She wasted no time in burying her face into her text book, patiently waiting for Miss Archer to begin today’s lesson, not paying too much attention to whatever unnecessary discussions drifted through the air. Only until the exciting announcement was made for the school’s internship program did she regain her sense of awareness. For those that were actually serious about making a career in the medical filed, it was trul
“Now that we have the basics covered, I suggest from tomorrow prepare yourselves to work more closely with your team mate. Later on in the day, the school will organize a more appropriate setting for each group, meaning you will now spend the remaining of the duration time leading up to the internship selection, seated alongside your partner.” Miss Archer continued to inform the class. Although many grumbled in dissatisfaction, in the end they simply had no other choice if they were to cease the opportunity. Jake sulked bitterly at the thought of being stuck with some ugly nobody and a rubber stamp… thinking that Jeremy was just a waste, he had everything… fame and riches but was too boring and cold, a party pooper. He just didn’t get what these girls saw in him. Sure, he was Quarterback of the football team, but what about
“Fine, I won’t get your parents involved, but… on two conditions.” Principal McAbee thought of using this as an opportunity to slowly guide the little antisocialist into the right path of normalcy. So, he took his seat behind the office desk with a clear mission. Erika could already guess where this was headed, but since it was her only alternative, she had to accept whatever came her way. “What’s the price?” “You haven’t registered for an afterschool activity as yet to qualify for the internship and no I’m not allowing you to assist in the library department, that does not count as interactive.” Did she really think she could get away that easy? “Well I’m not joining the debate team either, how about props and lighting in drama class?” She tried reasoning. “Nice try, but that’s not going to work… I was thinking more along the
Britney’s frustration grew at the possibility of the little nerd being an actual somebody. It was one thing to bully a missed placed, low status wannabe, but to interfere with an upper-class family… she needed to attack from within the circle and who better to ask for help than her doting arrogant daddy? “No way you’re stealing my boyfriend you ugly bookworm!” The scheming teen gritted her teeth in contempt as she quickly ran ahead of Jeremy and back into the school’s auditorium, planning a one-sided battle against the innocent girl that was desperately trying to remain a nobody. About an hour and a half later practice was finally over. With great anticipation the young Master Adams rushed across town to a much smaller community, in the company car sent to escort him home. “Sir, I must inform your father where
“Hold that thought, I really need to use the bathroom.” Chelsey interrupted before dashing into her nearby room. Five minutes later sighing a breath of relieve, she slowly stepped back into the hall space only to meet the lingering gaze of her brother as if he was anxiously waiting for her return. “Alright, I’m all ears, what do you need? Just stop acting so weird.” “Sorry.” Jeremy coughed dryly then stated, “I’m kind of curious about this Stevens girl, she… well… umm… she sort of bumped into me twice this morning.” Ever since they were kids, Jeremy had always felt comfortable enough to talk to his big sis. Perhaps thinking she was the only logical and sane person in their family. “And? What’s the big deal? I’ve met her once before when I was delivering s
The Hudson’s and the Adams were busily planning their own mission against the unsuspected innocent by-stander. Poor Erika had no idea what was instore for her, all she wanted was to keep to herself and survive her final semester at West-Bay Academy, but unfortunately that was too much to ask for from a bunch of life draining, fame hungry, spoiled teens. Because of the previous day’s series of incidents, she no longer took the risk of being hasty. “I just need to slow down today, maybe I was too free spirited. If I hadn’t ran away from everything none of this would have happened.” What a terrible way of reasoning with fate. Anyways, to be on the ‘safe’ side, she tried relaxing a bit. Woke up as usual, listen to another round of meaningless fashion lecture at breakfast with her overly concerned parents. Not bothering to pay too much attention to whatever her dear mo
