I shake my head in disappointment. Why can't she be truthful? I wished she didn't lie to me. I could read between the lines. Something had to be up.

Jane wasn't stammering like she just did.

I don't know why I feel like she is faking it, about going to see her dad. Her dad would not just call his daughter that early in the morning, and if she was going to an office, she would not be dressed like that.
