Shattering Glass

Zoe's POV

I returned to the hospital only to meet the police officers in Cathy's room.

"Miss, if you don't tell us anything, we cannot help you." The older man was saying, his voice was soft but there was irritation underneath it.

"I do not need your help." Cathy replied, defiantly. She mumbled a curse under her breath.

"Miss…" The woman tried her luck only to be cut off.

"I already told you to leave me be." Her voice was level but there was a sharp edge to it.

The older man pulled off his cap and sighed deeply. "She is a tough one. Only God knows what she's been through." He said sympathetically.

"The doctors did say that she lost part of her memory," I spoke and finally their attention turned to me. "Maybe in trying to suppress her memory, she lost them."

"Miss…"

"Pierce," I completed

"You were the one that called that night."

I nodded.

"We were hoping to come and question you." The older man informed me.

"Now?"

"Yes, if you do not have anything else occupying your time
