Old sins

Diana hated hangovers.

There was a really nice smell of food coming from somewhere in the house. It had penetrated her dreams and forced her out of the sleep world.

She could faintly hear low pop music playing in the room and she could also hear Maria humming to the song. She slowly peered her eyes open and she squeezed it shut immediately. It was too bright. The sun shimmered into the room through the window that was to the side of the bed.

She slowly sat up as her head ached painfully. She held her head and tried to massage it as she groaned in pain. The light was affecting her eyes and she squinted to see.

She gently got off the bed and headed to where the music was coming from. Her vision was still blurry from sleeping and squinting so she walked tentatively.

Maria initially thought her friend was sleep walking when she spotted her. It was when she tried to speak that she saw that Diana was awake. So she went back to her cooking.
