Diana was cautious about making any sort of physical contact with Matteo lest she fell into the temptation of the flesh. She was calmer now and in control of her emotions because that was the only option left.

She needed to deal with Matteo with a clear head. He was still looking at her like she was a stranger. She realized that he did not expect her to reject him and that caught off guard.

Matteo had gotten a wake up call where he lay. He had never been turned down before. Yet Diana had the courage to push him away despite the fact that he was an Armani.
