Chapter 10 : And Now A Word From Our Sponsors

Jévon's POV

I went to bed just in time for my alarm to wake me up, the obnoxious vibration so strong that my phone rolled off the bed.

It was seven o'clock, and it was way too early to restart the day. I needed a better schedule.

"Come on man," I swiped the alarm off, shoving the pillow over my head. "Just like five more minutes."

For ten minutes the world was golden silence, the soft chirping of birds and the muted sounds of my neighbor Gladys' telenovela lulling me to sleep.

And then Lord Ingálvur crawled out of my mirror.

"Good morrow, fruit of my blood brother's loins!"

Did he always have to word it like that?

Couldn't he just say "good morning, godson"?

Did he have to make it weird talking about people's junk?

Maybe if I just laid here he would think I was asle—no, nope, okay, he was shaking me. He was touching my back with his cold ass hands. All right, I'm awake! I'm up!
