Chapter Thirty-One

“Yes. I understand.” Aunt Courtney said in a low tone. She listened for a while and I patiently practiced what Hector taught me just a few days ago. I was in my bedroom when I heard her answer her phone call.

“The contractors said they will not speak to anyone unless it is you. You have to be present for this otherwise they will cut the deal off.” The person on the other end of the call told her.

“How long is it?” Aunt Courtney asked.

“About two weeks.” The lady on the call said.

“Ok, fine. I will be there.” Aunt Courtney huffed irritated.

She ended the call and I heard her walk out of her room. I walked out of my room as well and went downstairs to join everyone for dinner.

We all sat at the dinner table and quietly ate. The clicking of the cutlery on crockery echoed around the room. The light sounds bothered me a bit, but I tried my best to minimize the it in my mind for my own good.

“I will be flying to Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon.” Aunt Courtney revealed at the dinner table. For
