I was so restless, but couldn't shut my eyes. TV didn't help, so I reached out for one of the novels I had seen in the library, "Pride and Prejudice." I tried to immerse myself in the lives of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, but when I adjusted the angle of my desk lamp, the pages blurred, and with each turn, my interest waned.

My mind wandered to CJ and Kia in the bedroom. It was ironic because she had more right to him than I did. She was his wife, and I was just the other woman.

A humorless smile played on my lips as I lay on the bed. If a movie director used my story, it might earn him a Grammy, and I would be portrayed as the foolish girl whose life revolved around a man.

The thought of CJ being intimate with Kia would be a breaking point for me. Even though he reassured me of his love and his responsibility for Kia's mental state, I couldn't shake the images of him in bed with her.

Could I even handle this? My subconscious mocked me, reminding me of my sister's words about goi
