Night Delivery Gift

Adine felt as if a sharp knife had stabbed her; Dominik's mouth just uttered contradictory words.

Embarrassed, Adine lowered her face while holding back the rumbling in her chest. She wanted to throw her fist into the man's face, to smash that beautiful face, Adine thought.

"I can meet you whenever I change my mind, didn't you say so yourself?" Adine, whose mouth itched to protest, asked back what had been shouted at her.

Dominik stopped what he was doing, turned around, and looked at the woman, raising one of his eyebrows.

"Didn't I just say I changed my mind," Dominik complained. "Do you have a problem with your ears, miss?"

Adine still kept her feet on the ground. Dominik's words seemed to have trampled on her pride.

If she had the slightest bit of courage, Adine wanted to run and snatch the cue from Dominik's hand and swing it at the man's burly body. But alas, that was only in her imagination.
