Artemísia went all the way in silence, didn't mind looking out the window, she had no interest in trying to figure out where she was. She just sat in silence, stroking the fur of the little ferret made of shadows that lay on her lap. She was happy that Geon supported her decision not to continue with that gigantic back at the same point as it was all that search for something that was possibly impossible to exist.

She could see the pain in Leonore's eyes and it hurt her too much. The girl didn't want to have to do that, but at first she didn't want to start. She was just content to understand what and why she was going to die. It was just that. Artemisia had already been content to end the name Carmesim herself. She hated saying it, but she could understand her mother at the time, even if it didn't mean she would tell her.
