That night, Rhys passed out in the uncomfortable bed for the first time without struggling or tossing and turning restlessly from the lack of luxury and comfort Amira’s lodgings provided. After a quick, horribly cold wash and a hot, tasteless meal in his stomach, Rhys returned to the room and collapsed on the bed, seeking comfort in his dreams. When could he return to his body and the palace?

It had been a great experience so far, but acting like the she-wolf was tiresome, and remaining alert and the constant vigilance to avoid mistakes had taken its toll. Now, Rhys succumbed to a state of oblivion, his thoughts dissipating as vibrant colours emerged, his thoughts fading as he recognised he was in a dream.

Rhys let out a weary sigh. All he desired was sleep, and if he were to dream, he wished to do so without awareness. He simply longed for his mind to find respite, to escape from dwelling on the predicament he was currently facing.
