Second chance

Geremia entered the house, the house was dark, where was Carolina? Had she escaped already? He asked himself.

“Carolina” he called her name.

There was no answer. He walked to the bedroom and he he saw that she was under the covers.

“is there a reason why you couldn't answer me and why is this room so dark?” he asked as he opened the curtains.

She still didn't answer him so he pulled the blanket off her. She was shivering on the bed and she looked like she was close to dying.

Concern over rode his anger immediately.

He entered the bed and helped her up, her body temperature was so hot.

“You are burning up, how long have you been sick?” he asked her.

“since….. since you left” she managed to reply.

He went to the bathroom to get a water and a washcloth which he dabbed her with to bring the temperature down.

“I am going to install a landline that you can call me with” he told her.

After dabbing her body, he made her food so she could eat. He got some drugs from the medicine cabi
